Bega Falls is located in Barangay Mabuhay in the town of Prosperidad, the capital of Agusan del Sur province, Philippines. Legend has it that a beautiful diwata (~ fairy) seduces men and lures them to the falls. Those who were enticed by the diwata were never again found. The falls got its name from the Visayan word biga which means to flirt in English. Whether the legend were true or not, anyone who sees this falls will definitely be charmed by its beauty.
Tips and Reminders
*There is no direct route of jeeps and vans going to the jump-off point of Bega Falls in Brgy. Awa.
*Habal-habal is the most common mode of transportation going to Bega Falls
*Registration is a must at the entrance of the park
*Smoking and drinking of alcohol is prohibited inside the park
*Avoid too much noise as animals living around the area might be disturbed.
*The forests around the area has a rich biodiversity, please keep it as it is.
*Local people there are approachable and friendly
